Pancakes & Booze

Art has always had a special place in my heart. No matter the platform, I find myself drawn to it. Both, as a spectacle and a participant. Art is a place where I can lose myself and enter into an alternate universe whether it is in words or on a canvas. It is a safe space so whenever events like these are presented to me I make a conscious effort to attend. As millennials, we are constantly wanting the next best thing, the next best event, something even bigger and better than before and this event hit the nail right on the head. I mean, come on who doesn't love pancakes & booze with an amazing showcase of art and talent? The event was hosted at Penn Social in D.C. and the vibe was incredible there were so many amazing artists there including visual and musical. Not to mention, the pancakes were bomb! They had a choice of strawberry and blueberry but with a donation you could get both. I'm sure you can all guess what I did lol #fatkidprobs. All the artists I encountered were extremely welcoming and open to describing their motivation and inspiration for the pieces they presented there. The amount of talent that occupied the room was humbling to say the least. My favorite question to ask artists is, what is your favorite piece? Mostly because the answers behind the question and the reason why normally brings me understanding about why artists are so connected to whatever they create. The versatility of the art presented showed the organizers truly took their time selecting and planning! Needless to say I enjoyed myself and making connections with so many beautiful artists. Check out the slide show below to see some of my favorite pieces & artists!
